Barcelona resort offers simple, good value accommodation, with one
of the better selections of cheaper bungalows on Haad Yuan beach. There
is a friendly, relaxed vibe here, staying true to the old school Koh
Phangan feel. The receptionist Boom is a lovely girl and
always gives her guests a warm welcome.
The clean, well-kept
bungalows occupy a large part of the hillside, partially shaded by
trees and offering a cooling sea breeze. Several different styles of
room are available with an emphasis on good design, simplicity and
space. The elevation of the rooms on the hillside means that most offer
stunning sea views, and due to the east coast location it's a great
place to catch an amazing sunrise. Down next to the beach there
is a restaurant with a wide selection of Thai and Western dishes, as
well as a comprehensive drinks menu with espressos, fruit shakes, beers
and cocktails. Yoga is available here in a specially designed
elevated sala which also offers a cooling sea breeze and stunning sea
views. Other activities available include volleyball on the beach and
kayaking, and as with all east coast beaches on Koh Phangan, the
absence of a coral reef means it's a perfect place to swim.
